NSW Solar Battery Rebate

The NSW government is now offering substantial support for homes and businesses looking to add solar batteries. Whether you're upgrading your existing solar setup or investing in a new solar-plus-storage system, you can benefit from an upfront grant designed to make solar battery installation more affordable.

This incentive is part of the NSW government’s Peak Demand Reduction Scheme and provides an upfront subsidy of $1,600 to $2,400. With this rebate, you can enjoy extended access to your solar power even after the sun goes down, secure backup power during blackouts, and contribute to a cleaner energy future for NSW.

The program goes live on November 1, and only accredited suppliers like Des Mullins Electrical & Solar are eligible to provide systems under this subsidy. Ensure you're working with a trusted and experienced solar company to maximise your benefits.

Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (STC Program)

The Australian Government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (STC Program) offers financial incentives for households that install renewable energy systems like solar panels. This program is often associated with NSW solar rebates, helping you save on the initial cost of going solar.

  • Hold a valid Pensioner Concession Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card

Feed-in Tariffs

If you install a solar system without a battery, any excess energy you generate can be fed back into the grid. Your electricity supplier will pay you a feed-in tariff, typically as a credit on your power bill. Learn more about how this works on the NSW Government Feed-in Tariff Rates page.

At Des Mullins Electrical & Solar, we’re here to guide you through the process of accessing these rebates and making the switch to solar as cost-effective as possible. Contact us today to get started.
